Collette is from Fahy, Westport and started her Hair and Beauty career straight after school in 2008 and has been in the industry ever since.  With a passion for all things hair and beauty it was the only career for her, she trained and qualified from Cavan IT with Hair, Beauty and Make up Artistry. 

Collette is highly qualified in all aspects of Hair Management having attended many training courses – both in Ireland and London up-skilling and growing all the time while working in the industry. Collette entered many competitions and won awards in The Irish Schools Hairdressing Competitions and made the final in The L’Oreal Colour Trophy also. 

Collette loves all aspects of hair, beauty and make-up “I love the feeling you get when you can do something for someone that makes them feel good about themselves”. 

In 2015 Collette completed her teacher training which qualifies her to teach both hair and beauty, she found this very useful when managing a local salon where they held training evenings to up-skill junior stylist to seniors. 

While Colouring and Balayage is one of Collette’s specialist areas she also has a great love for styling hair, particularly up-styling for weddings and occasions. “There is something very special about doing a Bride’s hair and/or make up for her wedding, you really are part of the family on the morning, it is a lovely time as a stylist”. 

For Collette the dream was always to own her own salon in Westport and in 2019 she joined forces with work colleague Shona and they made the dream come true and are loving it!

Shona has been hairdressing since 2010. She has been working in her much loved  hometown Westport since she finished school! Shona loves everything about her job and also meeting so many clients who have became more like friends over the years!
Shona completed her training in Sligo and is qualified as a Hairdresser and a beautician!
She later went on to do a teaching training course and is also qualified to teach both hair and beauty! She had taken part in many photo shoots and competitions over the years as she enjoys this side of the industry!
Keeping up to date with fashion and all latest trends is very important to Shona, so she is always upskilling and following what’s on trend! She loves learning new things and been able to bring them back to the salon and offering them to old and new clients!
Shona has a real passion for colour and loves a challenge! She loves doing hair transformations from high lights to balayage or colour corrections! She loves seeing a good before and after picture and making her clients happy with their hair!! She also loves Bridal and wedding hair and styling clients for occasions.
In 2019 Shona’s dream of having her own salon came true when Collette and Shona decided to open the doors of ShoCo… and they haven’t looked back since!!

Rachel qualified in Makeup Artistry in 2018 in Sharleens Makeup Academy in Dublin and this is when she found her love for makeup and the beauty industry. Rachel went on to qualify as a Nail Technician in 2019 with Young Nails. She then had found her passion of her two favourite things; nails and makeup. She later went on to qualify in Eyebrow Lamination in 2021 with Beauty Vision Ireland and has gone on to do many upskilling courses with Beauty Vision including Electric File, BIAB and a Gel Extensions upskilling course.
